Other Dances

Rehearsal based off 4.48 theme and used as inspiration for my own dance

For this lesson our teacher had made up some new choreography that was based on a scene and the particular phrase 'Hatch Opens, Stark Light'. The main focus of the beginning of this dance is for the dancers to have attention on a light down stage left in the ceiling, this could represent the idea of that is where our peace is or a happy place we want to get to.

Abi's group piece:

I was in Abi's group dance she had made up. The main idea of the 'serial sevens', it was a routine where she wanted it to look like utter chaos and questioning yourself if you are looking it or really all there. I believe this was shown off with our group formations and odd dynamics. The dance lasted 3 minuets.

Abi's dance was repeated in our show but the second time we performed this. this version the second time she decided to change the formations and make them more straight and changed parts to look more organised, This was to present the idea that someone (us) being more mentally sane and coming down from a psychotic episode.

Lucy's group piece:

In Lucy's dance it showed the main idea to be "thoughts" trapped in you head/mind and you cant escape them how ever hard you try. This is represented from a dancer being trapped up in a cage in the very middle of the stage while we dance round her. I though this was really effective as the audience had a good view of what was going on at all times (audience sat in the round).

I'd love to hear from you.

I confirm that the attached assessment is all my own work and does not include any work completed by anyone other than myself and sources have been appropriately referenced.
